Easy come, easy go

I just rang up my personal banker to make some adjustments in my accounts and to gripe about them cutting my savings interest 0.25%. Surprise, surprise - she has moved to Australia!

Full Moon today

Watch out for barking strangers. There's a good chance you will stumble upon one, or two or three.

It's the weekend

Time to take it easy again. The WX is still decidedly HOT and will stay so until Tuesday when we are supposed to get the remnants of whomever; the tropical storm (Hector, Iago, Jasper?) now threatening New Orleans.
A brand new Dunkin' Donuts has opened up in Carmel. Katie and I did a check out run last Saturday. Yep, it is up to NJ Dunkin' Donuts standard. Now if one would only open up here in Broad Ripple.

Looking better

I sent my old passport in for renewal on August 14. They got it the next day according to the USPS. When I got back home after a great 3 weeks in NJ, I had a note from the passport office saying I could check the status online, which I did at the time - 10 to 12 weeks! I freaked out because there wouldn't be enough time to buy a highly-restrictive (read cheap) plane ticket to England in October.
I figured I would need to have my passport and buy the plane ticket the last week of September in order to take advantage of the 21-day advance purchase discount. I rechecked my passport status online and it now says six weeks from the time I sent it in. That makes it September 26 so there is some glimmer of hope now that I may be going to England in October. Fingers crossed.

Back in cowtown

The drive from New Jersey to Indianapolis was long. It was made longer by my missing the exit from I-81 to I-76 (Penna Pike) and not realizing it until I saw a "Welcome to Maryland" sign. Great. Moment of panic. A check of the map revealed that the mistake was not all that bad and that I-70, my ultimate route, was coming up in a few miles and would loop back to Breezewood and the pike. In fact, although it was a longer distance this way, I avoided that US-11 gauntlet of stop and go traffic. It might be a better way in the end.
