What a Monday
I did not get all my goals for today accomplished, but I am doing OK. Things started with a client wondering whether to download the update offered by the "pop-up" - Oh God, users! That is a no-no folks, not unless you want to become a willing victim of the marketing generation out there gathering all your information. Or worse! I think she got the message. Then it was a dead disk drive in another PC. I had a replacement and installed it and restored a backup - yes there was a back-up! Amazing! Now it was lunch time and Katie stopped by on her way to a job interview. She needs a job, folks. I had a wonderful taco salad and she had a chicken salad rollup. The afternoon went by with me configuring a new PC Tablet by Toshiba. A nice piece of hardware. Also a Apple IPod in the mix. By this time it was after six o'clock and I started for the UPS depot. They are working on the 16th street bridge, and I came up the wrong side so I had to go way out of my way. It was 6:40 when I reached UPS, but they had closed for the day at 6:30. Damn! Looks like I have to wait until tomorrow to ship my Viewsonic off to Kentucky.
