Working hard or hardly working

Now is the time of day and year to install updates to servers. I am sitting here at 18:00 clicking OK buttons, installing all the critical updates to the NT4.0 lame server. In order to do this, you have to kick everybody off the server so you can reboot a myriad of times after each update. The only time everybody has no interest in working on their computer (i.e. the network servers) is usually on Sunday, or the Friday before a long weekend - hence, my current situation. Ho hum.

Comment spam has become intolerable lately, so I have switched to the authentication method of commenting. Nothing personal.

Well that explains why I suddenly had to sign up to comment... I may be the only person I know who's never had any comment spam. Must be because my comments system is hand-coded. I knew being a geek would be handy for something one day.

I make a decent living at it (geekiness of sorts), but I am lazy and often opt for a shortcut as I did getting MT. If I created my own system, all I would probably have to deal with would be bugs of my own making (ignorance).
