IMHO, Dvorak is one of the most underrated composers out there. Where does he rate on your list?

One of my earliest musical epiphanies came whilst in a Sam Goody store in Paramus NJ at the age of about 12. They were demonstrating a stereo and they used a Nonesuch recording of Dvorak's 8th which blew me away! I was somewhat familiar the the "New World" which was excellent, but I realized that composers had "other works" which could also be quite compelling. AD is high on my list! Also, prior to this experience, it usually required repeated listening to a work for me to allow the endearing qualities to reveal themselves and become "known" to me, unlike the instant affinity of a pop song (lyrics are usually responsible in this case). But the simple power and clarity of Dvorak's work presented itself in an upfront manner right there in the store. Of course, I bought the (vinyl) record. And many more in later years.

I'm a near complete musical illiterate. But I really do enjoy Classical Music. Of course I also like Pirate Music and showtunes and bagpipes and Native American Flute and drums...

I'm mad that you don't like Beyonce and Celine- it's okay that you don't like Britney though. Unfortunately I love her songs....
