Spring has (in fact, technically) sprung!

At 7:33 EST this morning, but although it is grey out and barely above freezing. I still managed to get outside and take a few quick "before" pictures. I didn't wear a coat so the whole endeavor was a hasty one.
I am ready to put plants out in pots again like I do every year. It doesn't take much effort, but the rewards are wonderful, and so are the challenges.

Last year, the basil plant gave it up early on in the season. I think Joy's speculation of some sort of plant disease was the problem. The year before, I had some kind of tomato rot because of insects. Every year it is something different, but I haven't died because of eating my own veggies . . . yet.

It is still very early, but the buds on the trees have begun to show up against the grey sky.

There is a sad little crocus next door waiting for it to get warm.

I planted tulips, oh, 10 years ago.

Fresh dirt keeps plants healthy!

Please don't die eating your own veggies!

Let's hope not. I just plant tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and maybe I will try basil again, although I buy pesto from Trader Joe's now instead of making my own.

How are you doing with 3.15? Your comment links still give me a 404 error (albeit a cute one)

What a pretty little flower. Even if it is a little bit sad. The purple really stands out well.

If we'd just get a little sunshine, it would look fine.
