Early garden update

It has turned cool again here in Central Indiana, so no great growing strides have taken place over the last week. The good new is that we have gotten a couple of inches of rain which has relieved me of the tasj of watering.
And I am trying a new strategy with these pots. I put a half-inch layer of pea stone on top of the soil. I understand this will control the weeds and also help the soil retain more moisture. We shall see.

That's what the tag said, but I always knew it as Italian Basil.

hmmmm Nez, you are giving me an idea. I should try the potting plants thing. Only problem is the wee rabbits are munching on the stuff in my garden as it is.

Grrr! Munching bunny not very funny. I have a squirrel that steals peppers so I grow way too many. Trouble is he takes bites out of tomatoes and just leaves the unappetizing remains.
