I guess the weekend is over
I never bothered with any fireworks, either public or private. Indiana is very lax about controlling fireworks, so you can do a lot of damage locally with impunity. Unfortunately it upsets the animals so I avoid setting off any firecrackers or bottle rockets and such.
I found out last night my next door neighbor's dog has run away. She is an abuse victim, so she is very skittish at best. I took a stroll around the neighborhood at 2:00 AM and actually found a scared dog hiding under a car - not my next door neighbor's dog though.

Poor girl. I hope she comes home. We met our neighbor's dog for the first time yesterday. I have a feeling she might have been abused because she kept barking at my dad and brother. She came willingly to me but would NOT come near them.Posted by: Meeta at July 5, 2005 01:29 PM
She won't come to anybody. The firecrackers spooked her big time. There are a million places for a dog to hide in my neighborhood, so I hope she is hiding. Unfortunately, the firecrackers go on for the rest of the week. All it takes is one random bang and she's off.Posted by: Nez

They go on because people just like to blow things up.Posted by: Nez at July 6, 2005 11:34 AM
Poor pooches....it is karma for you to find the other dog....what happened to her? New pooch for you? What would Nez say? I finally entered another post in The Memory of Water...it is somewhat unlike the others... Oh, two groundhogs walked into a bar.... DebPosted by: Deborah at July 7, 2005 03:32 PM
