Nanny and her charges
Last weekend was a busy one for me compared to my usual weekend routine. I set the alarm for 4:00 AM in order to meet my 6:35 AM flight without additional stress. Good thing I did, because being a Summer Saturday morning near the first of August, there were many amateur travelers out there anxious to get out of Dodge for a few weeks. Lots of church groups too.
The first leg of the trip to Boston was through EWR. I had time for a Florentine omlette at the Garden State Diner and a phone call to Andy before continuing on the BOS. I noticed that the East Coast airports were waaaay less busy than the zoo in Indy.
I picked up the rental car in BOS and proceeded to Duxbury to find cousin Lydia and her employer family with whom she had been living for the month of July. Once again I felt like the Grim Reaper having to tear away the month-long bonds that developed between Lydia and the kidlets. But it was time to leave Duxbury and the 100 year-old house they were restoring. We got back into the lame rental car and headed off toward Westport Connecticut and further adventures with children.
(to be continued)
