IOW

Yesterday was quite an adventure! The Isle of Wight is off the south coast of England about a 30 minute ferry ride away. What a production, but they seem to have it down. I understand they can pack 144 cars
on one trip. The ferries run every half hour, but it helps to make a reservation. It ain't cheap (£41=$78) for one car and one person. They charge extra if a bunch of you are going, like a drive-in movie (remember those?).

The IOW is like a fairyland. I didn't take too many pictures of the scenery because the WX was crappy (fog, drizzle) when I got on the island, but this is a typical village cottage. I wonder. Is it the same on Guernsey, Toryssa? But I digress.
The real point of the trip was to go see some family whom I have never met. First, my two second cousins, Poppy and Tanith. As a bonus, I also have two third cousins called Kylo and Kayden!
What a long day it was, but what a day of discovery! It was so wonderful to meet these folks, but I wish they were more accessible. Why don't they build a bridge to this place?

Ever. Sorry. That house does look quite like houses in Guernsey, but the Guernsey Cottage is more farmstyle. Quite quaint. This house, in the postcard (which isn't far from where I live. actually, nothing in guernsey is far from where I live, not the point though). There is this thatched roof house near it, that is GORGEOUS.

Lovely! I think there is a greater French influence there, after all it is closer! I am sorry I didn't spend Thursday on the IOW as the WX was spectacular!
