Yep, there are signs . . .
Spring is on the way!
First - the light. I had to re-set my automatic light timer because the downstairs lights were coming on and the sun was still up. I don't notice the mornings as much, but I never notice much in the morning anyway.
Second - birdsong. In addition to sighting the first robin, it seems like there is a bit of a chorus in the mornings now. It even penetrates through the double glazing.
Third - crazy squirrel activity. They are chasing around on the ground and up the trees, spitting and hissing all the while.
We are supposed to have a warmish week so I imagine I shall see some early bud swelling and maybe the tip of a crocus or two poking up by next weekend.

I'm glad you're excited for spring. This is the time of year I wish I didn't live on a pond/small lake. Because the geese and ducks are up at 5 am making all this noise. I really just want to shoot them. I know I'm evil.Posted by: meeta at February 27, 2006 01:24 PM
There is a small flock of Canadians that live on the canal about a quarter mile from where I live. Every so often they do a flyover around the 'hood, honking their fool heads off. Ducks too.
