End of Summer garden wrapup
Not a good year for the garden. My tomato plant was a problem. Although it produced a lot of tomatoes, they all were attacked by bugs who proceded to drill into the tomatoes to lay their eggs. Hence, most of each tomato went bad and never ripened properly. The rest of the plants were ok after the Japanese beetle population moved on. The basil continues even though it has pretty much gone to seed. The pepper continues, even though the fruits are kind of smallish. The oregano and the catnip are well along and are ready to pack it in. The ornamental geranium suffered under the infestation of beetles, but it has recovered nicely and continues to provide lovely color.
