The ten word meme

The rules are as follows, which is taken directly from Meeta`s website:
"Here`s how this works. Meeta assigned me the letter "G". I write ten words that start with that letter and a brief description of why I chose that particular word. If you want to play along just say so in the comments. I`ll assign you a letter in my comments and you can post to your heart`s content on your blog."


1. Grateful: I have to be to stay sane and keep on an even keel. There were times past when that was not in the cards for me, but not so anymore.

2. Golf: I don't play the game, but I used to - very poorly I might add. But it was an excuse to spend Friday afternoons with a friend.

3. Garbage: I *hate* to take it out!

4. Garage: I have three vehicles and only one space in the garage. Why?

5. Gold: I love the color of gold, but hate it on those cars which sport the "gold package" - almost as pretentious as those "designer" SUV's. Hype and marketing.

6. Ginkgo: I just blogged about this recently so there's no need to be redundant.

7. Graham Greene: One of my favorite authors as it goes. A mature style of fiction I find highly entertaining.

8: Gut: (mine) I see it in the mirror, but still haven't the motivation to eat less or work out. Maybe because I was so skinny while growing up. I don't know.

9: Gravity: Related to No. 8. It is harder to overcome when the forces of said act upon the greater mass. Oy.

10: Global: (warming) Yeah, I know its a bad thing. Very bad. I am not sure I am doing my part the help prevent it, but I think I am in some ways. But I am enjoying the warmer Winters I am having here. I hate snow and too-cold temperatures, but we haven't had any this year. And I haven't had to bother to move!
