Just shoot me
I can't believe what I just did. I sat down in front of the television and in spite of TiVo, it was turned to the local PBS affiliate station in Bloomington. I watched the entire episode of the Lawrence Welk Show!
What does this mean? Am I sick? I must be getting old. I am old.
I think it was more a case of fascination with the hairstyles of the time. I don't know when this episode originally aired, but it was in vivid color. Ties on the men were about an inch wide. I remember those from the early to mid sixties, so I am guessing here. The Lennon sisters sang "Georgy Girl" so it had to be 1966 or later which sounds about right. I never saw so much greased down, short hair with whitewalls. The women's hair was lacquered stiff. I feel old. I need assisted living.
