PC woes

I sat down to the Mac and tried to get my email. No joy. Tried the browser. Nada. I wondered why the twitterfox "t" eventually turned red and I guess I got my answer. So I rebooted all my routers and dsl modem. Nothing.

So I switched to my linux server and it was working fine. Got my email, checked facebook, etc. No problem. I went back to the Mac, rebooted, and it decided to be a good little apple and behave this time.

I finally went to my PC and noticed the HD led was solid. Not normal. I tried to get a screen and there was blackness. I did a cold boot and noticed that it started OK, but then cycled itself again. It kept doing that in a loop. I just replaced the HD a few months ago, what gives?

I brought up the BIOS and noticed it didn't list the boot device. Great. It was trying to boot from the secondary drive, which was its old primary drive; the one that was replaced. I physically disconnected the secondary drive and it booted without hesitation.

Computers. I love em.
