Roadtrip!
Well, nothing to get too excited about. My good friend, Felice and I are going to see her son, Matt at Rose Hulman in Terre Haute. Woo!
Hey! I saw a naked girl riding a fish there. Yee-haw!

Post card from Lake Bled
Every year like clockwork my cousins from England take their Summer holiday in Slovenia. Behold this view of lovely Lake Bled.

Well, I never!
Somebody appears to prefer the neighbor's seating arrangements. Wait until it is dinnertime and we'll see which door gets scratched upon.

New moon this afternoon
And boy, am I glad of that! I have no energy. I swear my energy level rises and falls with the cycles of the moon. I could have slept the whole day away today and been perfectly happy with that. Not even a great big coffee could do much to get me going, but I am going.
It is time to go to the City Market and check the Farmer's Market for some good, sweet Indiana corn!

End of Summer garden wrapup
Not a good year for the garden. My tomato plant was a problem. Although it produced a lot of tomatoes, they all were attacked by bugs who proceded to drill into the tomatoes to lay their eggs. Hence, most of each tomato went bad and never ripened properly. The rest of the plants were ok after the Japanese beetle population moved on. The basil continues even though it has pretty much gone to seed. The pepper continues, even though the fruits are kind of smallish. The oregano and the catnip are well along and are ready to pack it in. The ornamental geranium suffered under the infestation of beetles, but it has recovered nicely and continues to provide lovely color.

Poor Pootie
I had to send him off with the tow truck this morning. His fuel pump gave out.

Trip plans
As usual I plan to go to London for a couple of weeks in October. I wonder if all these flight restrictions will be history by then? The trip (10 hours) is bad enough when things go swimmingly. It's an absolute nightmare when something (anything) goes wrong.

Stellar WX this weekend!
The humidity and temperature has dropped dramatically. It is down to 65°F (18°C) and the humidity is about 50% at the moment. It will great for State Fair attendance this first weekend. I am not interested in going to the Fair. It is one of those things you do once and that's enough, but I might go take a ride on the Fair Train which I hear hooting in the distance. Yes, I can hear its horn because for the first time in weeks I actually have the A/C turned off and the windows open!

I am baack!
It was hacked. I have implemented stricter access which (unfortunately) had slowed the site down a whole lot. I am experimenting with this to see if I can speed things up, but still keep it secure. Whatever.
That's what happens when you house your own server instead of paying a provider to give you a home. Oh well. Live and learn. It is only the second time I 've been hacked (to my knowledge) in about five or six years.

Storms are due
I checked the radar and there is a lazy, slow moving cold front inching its way south from Michigan across Northern Indiana. As I look out the window (to the South) it looks like there are clouds forming and there is a thick haze limiting visibility to about three or four miles.
My kitty is, of course, outside braving come-what-may, which is the usual daytime routine. He woke me up at 5:30 this morning wanting to go out. Maybe he knew it was going to storm and his activity would be restricted.

Road Rage!
It is spreading from the cats to the humans.
Some type-A baby boomer is a blue Chevy Suburban didn't like the way I drove home from, of all places, Hardees. He followed me, inches from my rear bumper all the way down Westfield Blvd to the light at Broad Ripple Ave. When we got to the light, he proceded to pull up next to me on the right and tear me a new asshole! Apparently he didn't like the way I scrupulously obeyed every traffic law all the way like a High School driver's ed student. I didn't exceed the 40 mph speed limit. I came to a complete stop at every intersection with a stop sign or red traffic light. I did yield the right-of-way to let someone turn left at 75th street, maybe that's what set him off.
The only thing I remember from his tirade is he called me fat . . . which is true . . . damn!

Cat Fight!
I was out by the grill getting ready to cook a burger when I heard the cat commotion a few yards away. I dropped tools and headed in the direction of the ruckus. There they were, my kitty was getting pounced upon by the big-headed bully! It looked just like the cartoons where you see an undecipherable, whirling ball of fur with lots of random teeth, legs, tails and claws making their appearance, sticking out in all directions.
I don't understand it. They were friends this morning. Big-head and Kittay were touching noses in some kind of cat greeting just eight hours ago.

The heat wave has passed!
It is a delightful 70°F (21°C) out. The humidity is a bit high, but I think that is just early morning hangover. I hope it has passed in Slovenia because my cousin and his family are on their way there today for a couple of weeks. The American's are going to Long Beach Island these two weeks where I hear it is still hotter than hell. The WX ought to be about right when my niece and family fly in from Minnesota this weekend.

Another hot one!
To quote my friend Stace, it's hotter than Satan's crotch outside! It is a good thing I have A/C everywhere I go or I'd be a cooked goose (literally). The cat, on the other hand, loves it. She He hangs out on the back deck and refuses to come inside where it is relatively comfortable, silly bugger!
