Macheath
This Mini is not very mini on features, it's a tiger. I have had to make a few compromises to get it to work with my KVM switch. I found out that my Viewsonic monitor has a DVI input (which my PC's don't use). So I dug through my cable box and found the DVI cable and hooked it up. Unbelievable! The video quality from this mini went up a zillion%! Now I have a super clear picture.

My New Toy
When I was out this morning I bought a Mac mini to add to my collection of hardware. It is great! It fits in with my system totally and allows me to do things I couldn't do before.

The body shop is working on Patty Passat's nasty scratches, and in the meantime I am lumbered with a Dodgy Charger to get me around.

Driving the cat nuts!
I has finally gotten warm in Central Indiana. I understand it is supposed to be way above freezing every day this week in fact. As a result of these warm temperatures, the snow and ice had begun to melt. Icicles have formed during the past few days, and now they are dropping like flies, crashing into the deck and making random noise. Everytime that happens, the cat jumps a mile thinking we have a home invader, or the world is coming to an end, or whatever.

YouTube is making me angry
I tried to upload a video yesterday after I borrowed Katie's Ibook to edit the thing. It said it uploaded. It said it was "Live" but when I clicked on it it said it was still processing. It said that all last night. When I tried it this morning it still said it was processing! Grr!
So I uploaded the vid again. Then I got a message that the most recent upload was rejected because of duplication! Double-Grrr!
So now I deleted all the recent uploads. I am going to wait until lunchtime and try another upload.
Argh! It did let me upload this one though . . .
Update: Egg on face! It turns out I have a dodgy router. (Bugger!)

Still snowing
It has been at it all day. I have to say though, we'd have a lot more if it didn't turn into sleet around lunchtime. It continued to sleet until about an hour ago. We have about eight inches now, expecting four more by the morning.

Argh!
Well, it's not the blizzard of '78 despite the panic on the television. I suspect the broadcasters are in cahoots with the city in a conspiracy to keep people off the streets while they plow. I am looking out the window and it looks to be about three inches. Of course, the snow hasn't stopped yet and will likely continue all day.
I hate Winter.

The virus got me
I don't know how, but somehow my workstation got infected with W32/Dropper which got into my address book and sent out a bunch of emails trying to spread itself. It even sent me the stupid email. Grrr!
If you got one of these emails with an attachment, DO NOT OPEN THE ATTACHMENT, delete the email, and run a virus scan on your computer just to be sure. Mac folks, of course, can sit back and have a chuckle at us Windows plebes struggling (schadenfreude is so rewarding).

Dodged that bullet
The WX peeps were jumping up and down last night about getting a few inches of snow. It didn't happen. Now they are predicting zero degree lows for the weekend. All this arctic air coming over from Canada. I don't like extreme cold, but it is better than extreme snow.
Full Snow Moon out there tonight. Watch out for crazy snowmen!
