Riding in cars with Andy
That is pretty much all I did today. First we took out a 1969 Mercedes 230 SL from Germany, a five-speed, then on to a 1973 Mercedes 280 SE 4.5, and finally a 1966 Corvair 110. What a great day to get to ride in three great cars.

New Jersey
I finally got here over an hour late. It rained all night, but today it looks like it might be nice. Unfortunately, due to the ancient laws here no stores are open today. Sheesh!

It's offical
I finally saw the first robin of Spring, 2007. I have been hearing them chirping in the evening while I am cooking at the grill, but this is the first sighting.

What a good idea!
Did you ever meet a dog with nice breath?

Maybe there's hope!
Spring may just be making a return to Broad Ripple!

A new Visitor
I went outside to take out some trash and met Sammy lurking around. Of course he/she followed me back to the crib and introduced him/herself to the resident feline. I expected a little flying fur or at least some harsh words, but it didn't happen. Perhaps they have already formed some kind of cat alliance in order to defeat the dreaded swift and deadly, bighead!

My home town!
. . . then again, I could be living in Minnesota!

So much for Spring
It rained all night causing floods in the area. Fortunately it has stopped now and it is just getting colder. Down to 37° (3°C) now and, hopefully, it won't go any lower. The buds on my fruit trees have swollen just a little bit as a result of a few days in the 70's, but that is about all. I haven't looked yet, but there are probably a few crocus breaking through.

A week of Spring
Looks like we are in for a week of temps in the 60's and 70's for a change. Sure beats the sub-32 stuff we had all Jan and Feb. I am itching to get going gardenwise, but I know better than to try anything outside before May 1.

Clocks Change tomorrow
I am sorry. Maybe its because I've lived in Indiana almost thirty years. They should just leave the clocks alone. DST will make things harder on this end of the zone. I am waiting for a kid to be killed waiting for the school bus in the dark!

Meet Parker!
My sister just welcomed a new African Grey (Psittacus erithacus erithacus) parrot into their home.

... most agree that three hours out of cage daily and 45 minutes of physical interaction is the minimum attention required for good mental health.

Still Freezing
It is 17°(-8°C) out now! When is it going to warm up around here?

Full Moon, Kids. (Happy Holi)
Let the barking commence. I might just stay inside all day, but I have a slow leak on one of Poot's tires and think it might have picked up a nail, so I am going to venture out to get that fixed.
UPDATE: Well it turned out that Poot had two nails! But it also turned out that neither of them was causing the leak. The wheel rim is bent just enough to allow air to escape very slowly. Looks like I have to scour ebay for a new wheel.

Personal Banker
I got me a personal banker. I never had one of those before. This one is on my case at Chase. Maybe I can get one of those credit cards that earn me random flyer miles that I can use on multiple airlines.

IN LIKE A LION
The cat spent the early morning hours cowering in the closet. I awoke around 4:00 to the tune of thunder and lightning. I think it is Spring arriving today. Time to get rid of all this unmelted snow and reveal all the dog poop!
