November is almost over
Today was my mother's birthday. We still aren't absolutely sure of her birth year. It will remain a family mystery unless some additional documentary evidence is uncovered.
I have a silly drinks and nibbles party to go to at 4:30 pm. Then dinner with an old friend after that. I am not sure where we are going to eat, but I think I shall suggest this place. I've eaten there before with mixed results. Anyway, it is in a good location.

Planning ahead
I leave for England in three weeks and a day. I decided to check out the entertainment (movies) that will be shown on my flight to Heathrow. Since I know little or nothing about popular movies, I list them here in case any readers have comments.
1. Ratatouille: delightful comic tale, a rat named Remy dreams of becoming a great French chef. Ok.
2. THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM: picks up where the THE BOURNE SUPREMACY left off. Great. Never saw it.
3: ELF: Buddy (Ferrell) wound up at the North Pole and spent his entire life raised by elves. Sounds stupid.
4: Judge John Deed: following the letter of the law can be tricky when the courtroom is clouded with conspiracy. Hm.
I hope I get some sleep, which I don't usually do on these flights.

Gobble gobble
Minnesota is wonderful this time of year thanks to global warming. I don't believe I left home without a winter coat and gloves this year because you just don't need them these days.
Are you hungry? Feast you eyes on this! Turkey avec Herbes de Provence et Citrus. C'est bon!

This lad was hungry too! You had to keep an eye on him, or else . . . au revoir turkey!

Observation
I let the cat out for his morning routine and stepped outside myself. It smells like snow. One of the talents I inherited from my father, smelling snow. It won't happen because it is the perfect temperature for an early Sunday morning - 40 degrees.
So quiet out. I could hear leaves falling and hitting the ground. There was a distant crow cawing, but that was about it for the bird life. None of that hectic springtime chirpfest we are used to. I like the stillness because it is rare. Some how there is always the sound of police sirens or car traffic, but not this morning.

I see the light
Back before the government messed with the clocks, most of Indiana stayed on Eastern Standard time all year. No springing forward or falling backward. It doesn't make any sense to bother to go daylight when you are on the western edge of the time zone. It is more dangerous to have it so dark in the morning. It is better to have it get dark earlier in the evening.

November
The colder WX is starting to settle in now. I have a neighbor who plants a vine that takes over his chain-link fence - all brown now. I have to park the car facing south to help the frost melt. Kittay is slower at getting around to going out in the AM. The clock changes in Indiana now. Soon some snow will fly.
