What is the deal? It always seems to disappoint. Yesterday the avatars were absent. Now my twits are a day old. The failwhale seems to have taken up residence in my bathtub.

Oh so close

The concrete crew woke me up early this morning banging around outside. I thought it was a good sound because they've done nothing for the past month! The whole job appears to be finished except for clean-up and about a 10 foot section of sidewalk. Taking bets on how long it will take to finish that last ten feet.

Full moon approaching

I can tell. I was driving down Keystone Ave and somebody had to change into my lane abruptly and cut me off just so he could be first at the upcoming traffic light. What a child. Unfortunately, the "child" looked much like a sixty year-old male human (much like myself). Full moon.

Back to work again

The three day weekend was nice, but I don't know of many who don't shave a little off their Fridays anyway. I like it better when we are off Mondays.

No cell phone holding while driving - too bad we have to make laws for this but people are stupid and have to be forced to do the right thing. We need a similar law here in Indiana.

Finally!

Since the bees have gone, I had to resort to artificial pollination with a q-tip to get my tomato plants to bear fruit. I finally see a baby tomato - the first of the year!

The deck is done!

Well, almost. They still have to put a skirt on it to cover up the ugly pipes and stuff underneath. The cats have been really miffed lately because they have their own world under there and don't want it exposed.

New deck progress

I am happy with the progress on my deck replacement project. They started yesterday and gutted my old, too small now that the wall is gone, deck. The only downside was that they uprooted my satellite dish which caused me great concern. I cannot be without my BBC America, my Nightly News and various other televisional delights. Besides, that dish is costing me whether it gets watched or not.

So, even though the deck was not finished, I took it upon myself to install the dish in the proper position so that the workers could carry on knowing what to do with it.

Needless to say, Kittay has been cross for a week at all this disruption and has decided to camp out in the front away from all the action.

Today's gripe is that my dish is being removed (temporarily I hope) so they can build me a new deck - the dish is mounted on the deck. No TV or TiVo for x days until they get it done.

The new neighbor

Finally great minds meet on a sunny afternoon.

Pouring cement and making sidewalks. They are supposed to finish up today, but it looks like there is a whole lot of work left and very few to do it, so I think chaos will extend into next week at meerkat manor.
