Did you say you went to Paris?

That was a surprise. I just bought some Eurostar tickets and went. The WX forecast was for clear, but it was cloudy and cold and damp, but no rain or snow. It was just . . . wow! It clicked why there are so many expatriates in the city. There are some similarities to New York, but it is definitely Paris. Definitely art!

Out and about

Went with Jasper to Billingsgate Fish Market , which is no longer a market but a convention center type place. He and I took Southwest Trains to Waterloo, then two tube lines (Northern and District) to get there. On the way back I took the District to Hammersmith and then caught the number 33 bus to East Sheen. The changed around all the platforms at Hammersmith which baffled me a bit, but I soon sorted it out.

London, Baby!

The plane was 45 minutes early! We must have had a wicked tailwind. Good as that is, the full plane was a nightmare. I was on the verge of killing that kid in front of me who could not sit still and leave his seat back alone. But I am here now. I made it.

Last day of work for 2008

Let's hope only for 2008.
Tomorrow is get ready for travel day. I get to do all my laundry so I will have a full palette of wearables to choose from as I make packing selections. London weather may be damp, but it is not as cold as the US in the winter so no heavy coats will be needed. This is good because there is no time for dry cleaning anything.
I will only take two cases - one huge one to check, and a small carry-on, both with wheels since I am not in the mood to carry anything. I have fresh batteries for all my electronics - which I tend not to use anyway so why do I take them all? I have a recent book, The Black Swan by Nassim Nicholas Taleb, which I have managed only to just start even though I have had it for a month.
Yep, London here we come!
